SURFACE MOUNT CONVERSION

Using the Bill of Materials convert the parts from Through Hole to Surface Mount components. The conversion will address the concerns of manufacturing volume, circuit parameters and function.

	Convert thru-hole designs to use surface mount components.
	Provide customer with BOM of SMT components with multiple suppliers, supplier’s part numbers.
	Determine in mixed technology boards which of the components is cost effective to convert to thru-hole. Review design and components to determine if the SMT parts are right for the design considering cost, board space and application.
	Determine cost differential for converting to SMT.
	Reviewing component cost, manufacturing cost and lead time; determine overall savings or cost to convert to SMT
